Volunteer at an Inpatient Physical Therapy Rehab
Location: Richmond, IN
Students interested in pursuing a career in physical therapy must obtain a set amount of observation hours with a licensed physical therapist before applying to graduate school.
Location: Reid Health, Acute Rehabilitation Unit
What will you do: The Acute Rehabilitation Unit is an inpatient program designed to help patients with specific needs and who are able to participate in regular inpatient therapy to improve their condition. The ARU Therapy Gym assists patients who suffer from:
- Stroke
- Head Injury
- Neurologic impairment
- Spinal cord injury
- Amputation
- Orthopedic conditions
- Multiple trauma
Volunteers will assist with cleaning equipment, preparing the rooms for patient visits, and interacting with the patients during sessions.
Requirements: Apply to the Health Externship Program* (semester prior to requested start), and complete an online orientation.
Hours Available: Monday – Friday 8am –12pm, 1pm –5pm
